The Business Development Manager will lead all business development initiatives and projects for several key practice areas within the Litigation Practice. 


  • Create and lead internal business analysis, market research and competitive intelligence to identify promising opportunities for short-term and longer-term growth across several Litigation practices;
  • Work with the Firm’s litigators and business development staff to develop and coordinate business plans, sales materials and experience management efforts;
  • Support litigation partners and business development staff in executing on business plans and closing new engagements;
  • Be primarily responsible for high-profile RFPs; and
  • Recommend overall improvements to the Firm’s business development functions.

This Business Development Manager is an exempt position responsible for the key practices within Litigation and reports directly to the Director of Business Development. Practice and industry assignments may be subject to change depending on shifting business priorities, available resources and other factors. The position can be located in our San Jose, Foster City or San Francisco office, with travel to the Firm’s headquarter office in Mountain View and other offices as needed.


The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of professional services business development experience, with an advanced degree preferred and an intermediate to advanced understanding of technology industries (software, mobile, life sciences, etc.) and legal services (venture capital, securities, IP litigation, etc.). He or she will possess: the ability to write about complex legal and technical topics; advanced search, data collection and reporting skills, including use of CRM tools and proprietary research databases; advanced Excel skills and proficiency in remaining MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
