POSITION: Business Development Executive

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP has an immediate opening for a Business Development Executive for the firm’s Palo Alto office.
The Business Development Executive will support the Silicon Valley attorneys in developing new business, managing lead generation activities, expanding the firm’s deal flow and relationships, and increasing the firm’s brand recognition within targeted industry segments. They will facilitate the cross-selling of the firm’s services and capabilities within the Silicon Valley office to increase revenue per client; develop, expand and leverage personal and firm networks of entrepreneurs, executives, venture capitalists, investors, bankers, thought leaders and other connectors to make introductions, organize meetings, plan events and promote the firm’s services and capabilities. They will assist attorneys in identifying and developing key relationships and new business through their personal networks. Candidate will identify industry and technology trends with an eye on shaping lead qualification activities and position the firm locally to proactively address these industry and technology trends. Lastly, candidate will initiate and execute related strategic events that create cross-practice and cross-industry cross-selling and branding opportunities.
Candidate will have a minimum of five years of sales/business development experience with a strong business acumen and a deep understanding of the tech and life science industries and their trends. Candidate will have strong relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow relationships with people of all types, cultures and backgrounds. Candidate will have extensive networks, relationships and contacts among entrepreneurs, executives, investors, venture capitalists, bankers and thought leaders and a demonstrated track record of success in implementing and sustaining client development efforts and building and expanding revenues and client relationships.
